Lorienne Swales was born in Derby, England and began her musical education there in piano at the age of 6. Lorienne holds an ARCT in Voice Performance from The Royal Conservatory of Music full time programme and an LTCL from Trinity College of Music London England. In addition she holds Level 2 Kodaly Certification which is a method of teaching young children how to sight sing.
Lorienne Studied voice with renouned teacher Helen Simmie, Patricia Kern Master Artist and Pedagogue and Paul Massel. She has won numerous vocal scholarships from The Canadian National Exhibition, Contemporary Showcase Competition, The Royal Conservatory of Music and Aspen Music Festival in the USA. She has sung in Opera, Oratorio and Recital. Her Operatic roles include TOSCA, Santuzza in Cavallaria Rusticana and Leonora in Il Trovatore. She has also performed in British Pantomime Mother Goose where she played the Squires Mistress and Cinderella with the role of Prince Charming. Lorienne has been a Church soloist for 20 years at different churches around the GTA, and is a former Board Member of the Canadian Music Competition (CMC).
Lorienne has taught private Voice and Theory for 17 years at her own studio and private schools in the GTA. Her students have won many 1st,2nd and 3rd places in different vocal competitions, they have also been accepted into the Canadian Childrens Opera Company, St. Micheals Choir School and Art Schools around the city. Her students have won the Coveted Gold Medals for top marks in Ontario for their Royal Conservatory of Music Examinations. Lorienne is a member of National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS).
